	Adhesion promoters Adhesion promoters (primers) are substances improving the adhesionbetween two phases, e. g. between a substrate and a coating. The effectof an adhesion promoter is based on sufficiently strong nonpolar, polaror covalent bonds towards both phases which are stronger than theinteractions between the two phases. Applying adhesion promoters incombination with a plasma pre-treatment offers optimal opportunities toconnect two phases, in particular in the stable activation of a surface.
