	Silicon Polysiloxane, mostly poly(dimethylsiloxane), having found widespreadapplication as oil or grease. Curable silicones are used e. g. insealings. Silcones feature a very low surface energy (about 20 mN/m),therefore wetting well most other surfaces but not being wetted by mostother liquids. Hence, even traces of silicones disturb most coatingprocesses. The cleaning of surfaces containing silicones is feasible byspecial plasma methods.
