diener electronic : Plasma carburising


	Plasma carburising Hardening of steel surfaces by increasing the carbon content by means ofplasma diffusion of hydrocarbon gases followed by quenching. In contrastto conventional carburising, there is no substantial surface oxidation inplasma carburising and the process takes less time. The surface hardnessis usually slightly lower than for nitriding, however, the thickness ofthe diffusion layer is bigger.
